Transfer: Man Utd irresistible – Onana reveals why he dumped Inter Milan

Andre Onana has said that it was “irresistible” not to join Manchester United.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper is presently in the UK to finalize a £47 million transfer from Inter Milan.

Onana, who Erik ten Hag supervised at Ajax, is Erik ten Hag’s first candidate to succeed David de Gea as Manchester United’s starting goalkeeper.

The 27-year-old will cost the Red Devils £43.8 million up front and a further £3.4 million in add-ons.

Onana has already expressed his joy at joining the Premier League’s powerhouses.

The most essential thing is to be honest and always tell the truth, he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am a person who seeks out fresh challenges constantly.

“Playing for a team like Man United and in the Premier League is too alluring to pass up. Everyone involved wanted this to happen.

However, what counts is that even if I had stayed, I would have been content because I never encountered issues at Inter. Indeed, a kind of magic that is virtually impossible to express was born in Milan.
