Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has acknowledged that Kai Havertz is a player he has long admired before signing him this summer.
Havertz moved to the Gunners for £65 million from Chelsea.
After a few conversations, the German convinced him, according to Arteta.
“Havertz is a player whose talent I have long respected, and we had the chance to sign him to a contract with the team.
We had a couple conversations about how he felt about it, and I became sure that he was the athlete and personality type the team needed to advance.
Along with Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber, Arteta has made three summer additions. One of those three is Havertz.
