Mason Greenwood should leave Manchester United, according to Wayne Rooney, the manager of DC United, in order to “get his career back on track.”
Greenwood is still under investigation internally at United and is still out of the lineup.
Early in 2022, the former England striker was detained on charges of rape, assault, and using coercive and controlling behavior.
Although the accusations have already been withdrawn, it is unclear whether Greenwood will be permitted to play for the Red Devils once more.
Mason Greenwood is left in a precarious situation, Rooney said in a statement to The Athletic.
Mason is therefore in a horrible situation since, from what I can tell, all he wants to do is play football. It’s almost a catch-22 for the club, its reputation, and making sure they make the correct choices, though. The wisest course of action, in my opinion, is for Mason to leave the club and find a new environment in which to thrive.
