Subsidy Removal: Your first executive decision a misfire – Atiku aide blasts Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu’s first executive action was deemed a failure by Daniel Bwala, an aide of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 presidential contender.

Before making the statement, Bwala suggested that Tinubu implement deliverables that would mitigate the effects of the elimination of subsidies.

He pointed out that the All Progressives Congress, led by Bola Tinubu, had refused to deliver results prior to announcing the elimination of the subsidy because they wanted Nigerians to suffer.

Bwala stated in a tweet: “You suffer political disaster if you don’t know strategy. It’s not a good omen for him and his economic advisors that @officialABAT’s first executive choice went wrong. All contenders differ in their preferred methods, even though they all support eliminating the fuel subsidy.

There is no justification for this policy error because there was a smooth transition from the APC @OfficialAPCNg @MBuhari to the APC @OfficialAPCNg @officialABAT during which there were sufficient briefings on the struggles of the previous administration in dealing with fuel subsidies.

“Enough time had passed since the elimination of fuel subsidies was legislated to the present to have produced strong and practical deliverables for reducing the impact, but the APC chose that route because it takes joy in subjecting Nigerians to terrible misery. Without any real plans for economic recovery, they simply love to seize power.
