Tembu Ebere, a Nigerian, lost his sight after attempting to cry nonstop for 100 hours to break the Guinness World Record.
Ebere confirmed his health status in an interview with the BBC, saying that he first started to have excruciating headaches, puffy eyes, and a swollen face from the incessant crying, followed by 45 minutes of temporary blindness.
He said, with reference to his intention to sob ceaselessly for a week, “I had to re-strategize and reduce my wailing.”
Ebere recently expressed his desire to participate in a seven-day non-stop crying marathon in a social media post that went viral and was accompanied with a flier.
A second Nigerian woman, Joyce Ijeoma, reportedly passed out two weeks ago while attempting a 72-hour body massage in the Lekki district of the State, according to DAILY POST.
