Smart Adeyemi, a senator from Kogi West Senatorial District, has recommended that when Bola Tinubu becomes president, he should question Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The legislator said that the CBN’s decision to redesign Naira notes was a deliberate attempt to thwart Tinubu’s presidential aspirations. He made this claim in an interview with Channels Television.
He asserted that the policy that sparked controversy in the nation earlier this year should have the governor of the top bank forced to defend its true intentions.
The deliberate goal, he continued, was to prevent the APC from winning the election. Where are the redesigned notes if they said they were redoing the Naira?
They gradually disappear from circulation. The judiciary’s silence would have allowed chaos to reign in Nigeria.
If I were Tinubu, I would invite Emefiele and other people to come explain what transpired and the rationale behind the revamping of Naira notes as soon as I take office.
