Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom on Wednesday rejected assertions that he despises President Muhammadu Buhari as a result of the ongoing armed Fulani attacks in the state.
Contrary to what many Nigerians believe, Ortom said he does not despise Buhari.
On Arise Television’s Morning News, Ortom said that although he wasn’t the finest candidate, God had chosen him to serve as governor in 2015 and 2019.
I wasn’t the best candidate in 2015 or 2019, but God chose me to be the governor, claims Ortom. Although many people think I am Buhari’s opponent, he will still serve as my president till May 29. I just offer helpful criticism.
“We adore each other, and I was the first governor he brought to South Africa when he became president. I don’t dislike Buhari. I would continue to be agitated about Fulani herdsmen causing trouble as the only concern.
“These are just troublemakers; Shehu Shagari performed admirably in his capacity as president, and today Benue has immortalized his name.”
