El-Rufai a schemer, disregard islamization claims – CAN chairman, Hayab to Nigerians

The Christian Association of Nigeria’s (CAN) Kaduna State chapter chairman, Rev. Joseph Hayab, urged Nigerians on Wednesday to reject Nasir El-Rufai’s allegations of the state’s claimed Islamization.

The recent comments made by El-Rufai about a Muslim/Muslim ticket and President Bola Tinubu’s win silencing his opponents and CAN, according to Hayab, were only ploys to advance his purported presidential ambitions and sow discord between Christians and Muslims in the nation.

The Muslim-Muslim ticket would remain in place in Kaduna for more than 20 years, according to El-Rufai. In addition, the former governor asserted that Muslim domination was mirrored at the federal level.

Rev. Hayab added, “Many people believed we were just fighting or stopping El-Rufai for something else. But some of us have known El-Rufai for saying this kind of stuff, for plotting these kinds of issues, and for masterminding these kinds of issues. God has made it possible for El-Rufai to come forward and introduce himself to Nigerians.

“If you have known El-Rufai for the past 20 years and watch the video, you will know that this is El-Rufai because El-Rufai has not changed; he has remained a Chameleon, remains a pretense, and remains who he is. But God has helped us because he openly said his mind.”

Hayab added that El-Rufai was residing in a fantasy in which he might engage in ritualistic activities and even win the election for president of Nigeria.

“You know, since he (El-Rufai) is up to something, he is playing a game and what he would do is to confuse people and set Christians against Muslims; set Christians against the present government, and then he would stand to benefit from it tomorrow,” the chairman of the Kaduna Christian Association stated. I will regrettably inform him that he has failed from the start.

“He has actually demonstrated to Nigerians with this that he is not at all qualified to serve as a leader, and I believe that is one of the issues in Nigeria. We empower people without conducting tests.

Hayab emphasized that there was no success in his administration and claimed that if the Muslim/Muslim ticket had genuinely won in Kaduna state, there would not have been the deaths, the division, and the issues we currently face in Kaduna.

El-Rufai likes to level these kinds of accusations before backtracking, according to Hayab. He claimed in 2015 that Southern Kaduna’s Christians did not support him. I personally went to him and reminded him of the votes he received in Sanga, Jema’a, Kachia, and other local governments, where he received nearly the same number of votes as the PDP. This ended the argument and the lies, and he apologized to me.

He needed two-thirds of the votes in each of the 23 local government areas in order to win in 2019, and he could not have done it without the support of the Christian-majority local governments.

El-Rufai is just referring to himself. El-Rufai has no regard for anyone, not even the Islamic clerics; he is just concerned with his own interests and not the beliefs of the populace.
